12:15 CT: Since I could not get a hold of my good friend and blogging partner dantheman4250, I am going to take over the blogging duties. I will update what everyone has missed in just a little while hopefully not too long. Also, Weather shouldn't be a factor in Round 3 either, as we get set for this little demonstration of Gonzagfans Round 3 Blog.
12:25 CT: Just a quick overview of some of the bigger names that have missed the cut are: Angel Cabrera, and Colin Montgomerie. Now we also had a withdrawl the other day in Ian Poulter. Angel Cabrera who was last years winner and famously known for smoking down the course, just didn't seem to fit this year. He really didn't have too much to offer, and just missed simple putts, and really had no flow in his game. Next up: What we missed so far today.
12:35 CT: Just a quick overlay of what we have missed this morning, and then we will go to our LIVE coverage of the US Open Round 3. Ryuji Imada, who Dan had as a sleeper in this year's tournament, has fallen off the map so far and is at +7 and other golfers that you guys probably want to know about are Boo Weekly who is also at +7 and Vijay Singh who is also not playing well in this tournament, let alone today. Now Steve Stricker also had an early tee time not playing so well yesterday and is currently at +7....Next Up: Preview of Todays action: The Big Boys.
12:50 CT: Ok, Tiger is quickly catching up with the field and I believe he is going to win the thing. However, Stuart Appleby is playing terrific golf and I can hardly wait to see how he deals with Tiger breathing down his neck. Appleby is a good player and I would like to see him win, but I see another major for Tiger. A couple of sleepers in this tournament right now are Davis Love II and Retief Goosen along with Ernie Els. I believe either of these 3 can get right back into this tournament with a good shooting day. Goosen has one 2 of these things before, so that is why I believe he is still in this thing. Torrey Pines is a beautiful course, I must add. Back in a few with LIVE Coverage.
1:04 CT: Vijay Singh is still playing horribly as he drops again to +4 as he is thru 11 holes. If he is going to stay out of the cellar with Parnevik and Dresser, he is going to have to get birdies and pars to make it look more respectable in the newspapers. Besides, if you can't win we all look for those garbage newspaper points right?
Especially if you are really far behind.
1:13 CT: Since I have enough time to do this let's refresh you of the Top 10 in the US Open so far: 1. Stuart Appleby, 2. Tiger Woods, Karlsson, Mediate, Jimenez, Westwood, Davis Love III, Trahan, Pettersson, Ernie Els, Geoff Ogilvy, Allenby, Luke Donald...Yes that is more than 10, but due to ties there are more than 10. Next Update: the "unknowns"
1:32 CT: Now Dan I believe had Ryuji Imada in the Top 7 golfers to watch this weekend in the 156 that he ranked. He gave this guy a good chance to win with a feeling of a "hunch' Well I was impressed by his pick in the first day, and then Imada started to dissapoint starting yesterday and now he is at +6 but shooting E for the day. Also Robert Karlsson is in the Top 2 tied with Tiger Woods right now and he has had a successful 2 days of playing so far. He has really shown he can compete with the big boys so far. Can he shoot well enough to stay in the tournament today and tomorrow or will he be fishing for those "garbage points and strokes" ilke Singh? I hope this guy can be with the best of them come Sunday afternoon. That would be great. We need someone besides Phil to challenge Tiger.
1:40 CT: What happend to Justin Hicks? Man, he had a great first day, and then played horrible yesterday and he found himself with an early tee time. Also, I believe he was in the lead for quite some time on day one up there at -3 and -2. Today he has shot a +3 so far and now is up to a +9 score. He has really fallen off the map. What went wrong?
1:47 CT: Jesper Parnevik squeaked into
